If Selling: Do not discontinue utilities or homeowner's insurance. When a closing date is scheduled, contact utility companies and order final reading. Cancel homeowner's insurance after your closing. Bring driver's license to closing.

If Buying: Make arrangements for homeowner's insurance as soon as possible. When a closing date has been scheduled, contact utility companies and have them placed in your name effective on your closing date. Bring cashier's check & driver's license to closing.

State law requires you to purchase a Florida license plate within 10 days of becoming a legal resident, becoming employed, or placing your children in public school. Proof of insurance must be shown. Auto ID number must be verified. This may be picked up at the Tax collector's office.

A Florida driver's license is required within 30 days of becoming employed, entering children in school, registering to vote, filing for homestead exemption, or becoming a resident of Florida. To just change address By phone 1-800-448-1008 for a $14 charge. Allow 2 weeks.
